AMUNOA - Linear, Bezier

Not much seems to be known about the artist who goes by AMUNOA. I tried searching for interviews and nothing really came up. I know they were on Trekkie Trax for a while, but this newest album doesn’t even appear on the label’s website.
While the background of this artist is mostly a mystery (despite having a pretty active Twitter/X), the variety of sounds and inspirations on this album is apparent. I particularly think the beats and sample usage is impressive, such as the child-like choir of “Moss and Memory” or the sample that sounds like a tabla on “Through the 12 fps”.
While there are a few tracks in the middle that I usually skip, this album bookends really really well (the last 4 tracks are incredibly interesting and diverse) and pops off when listened to with headphones. If you’re into Trekkie Trax related stuff, I think this is definitely worth checking out.

Sorry, no write up for the Mystery Bento this week. But either way, here’s an interesting older album I like! Check it out if you like long Indie Rock/Pop songs that are heavy Shoegaze influenced (but not 100% Shoegaze if ya know what I mean hee hee).
